At Amoco Trinidad purchased major mechanical equipment for two (2) offshore platforms and pipeline including skidded generators, water treatment units, etc. for platforms. At Amoco Decatur, purchased major mechanical equipment for a paraxylene project. Gas Phase Poyethylene Project, Quantum Chemical Company, LaPorte, TX - Purchased mechanical equipment including pumps, material handling equipment, and control systems equipment for a Gas Phase Polyethylene Project in LaPorte, Texas. Yukong FCC Project - Purchased Major Mechanical Equipment including pumps and compressors for a grass-roots refinery in Ulsan, Korea. Responsibilities included negotiations, procurement and coordination between suppliers and engineers. 1993 to 1994 - MES Engineering, Houston, Texas Manager, Procurement: Set up Procurement Procedures for all Procurement disciplines for U.S. subsidiary of a major Japanese Engineering Company (Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding). Manage Procurement effort for several refining and chemical plant projects. Clients included Exxon Chemical and Borden Chemical. 1989 to 1993 - Fluor Daniel, Sugar Land, Texas Project Procurement Manager Aramco Services Company - Northern Area Onshore and Offshore Oil & Gas Plants Program - Coordinate U.S. procurement support for Saudi Arabian In- Kingdom procurement effort to upgrade and expand onshore and offshore production and processing facilities for the Saudi Aramco Oil Company. Ensco Project - Coordinated home office procurement activities and moved to field jobsite to set up procurement, contracts and warehouse operations to support construction of a Hazardous Waste Incineration Plant in Maricopa County, Arizona. Chevron Polyethylene Project - Responsible for coordinating procurement activities, including purchasing, expediting, traffic and inspection of LDPE unit at Chevron Chemical Company's Baytown Facility. 1980 to 1989 - Coastal Refining & Marketing, Inc., Corpus Christi, Texas Manager, Purchasing & Stores: Responsible for purchasing all requirements for 185,000 barrel per day refinery. Initially reported to Corporate Purchasing Vice President while assigned to refinery's General Manager; later position reorganized to Manager: Purchasing & Stores. Charged with purchasing and supervision of warehousing for the refinery. Major projects purchased included a sulfur recover unit and a cogeneration plant based on two frame 5 GE Turbines. 1976 to 1980 - Fluor Engineers & Constructors, Inc., Houston, Texas Senior Buyer: Aramco Service Company, Saudi Arabian Gas Project, Saudi Arabia - Handled negotiations for heat exchangers and pressure vessels. Marathon Oil Co., FCCU Expansion, Garyville, LA - Two major chemical plant and refinery expansions as Project Procurement Manager. Responsible for coordinating subcontractors, purchasing, traffic and expediting activites. 1973 to 1976 - Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, Houston, Texas/San Francisco, California/Anchorage, Alaska Procurement Coordinator/Senior Buyer: Coordinated activites of two major management contractors, six execution contractors and numerous subcontractors. Purchased materials included: camps; construction and support equipment; pumps; 48" diameter low temperature pipe; valves and fittings. Worked with purchasing offices in Alaska, California, Washington and Texas, purchasing on a worldwide basis. Largest single purchase was approximately $180 million for pipeline support shoes that involved six months of negotiations to obtain required delivery and reduce costs from the orginal bid of $220 million. 1970 to 1973 - Standard Oil Company. Cleveland, Ohio Responsible for the procurement of engineered process equipment for SOHIO and all subsidiaries including BP oil Corporation, Vistron Chemical, Loma Plastic Productions, SOHIO and BP Pipeline. Equipment purchases included rotary (pumps, compressors and turbines), heat transfer (heat exchangers and cooling towers) pressure vessels, tubular products and hardware (valves and fittings). 1969 to 1970 - BP Corporation, Atlanta, Georgia Senior Buyer: Buyer of mechanical and electrial equipment for BP refineries and terminals. Responsibilities included negotiations on a yearly basis for supply arrangements in all commodities. These included electrical, instrumentation, pipe, valves and fittings. 1967 to 1969 - Sinclair Oil Corporation, New York, New York Assistant Buyer: Responsible for process equipment for Sinclair and all subsidiaries. Coordinated and controlled purchases with Contractor and Sinclair Project Engineers on several refinery and chemical plant projects. 1964 to 1967 -Sinclair Refining Company, Houston, Texas Technician: Assigned to follow operations and maintenance in the refinery. Coordinated maintenance and storehouse activites as Feild Engineer. Involved in operations and engineering activites on crude unit, visbreakers and fluid catalytic cracking unit. |
