Completed engineering projects included aviation fixed base facilities, lube oil additive blending plant, marketing products terminal relocation/upgrade and various terminal component projects related to bottom loading, storage tank overfill protection, automated fire protection and wastewater collection, treatment and disposal. 1952 – 1982 - Exxon Company U.S.A. Petroleum Marketing Engineering: During an engineering career with Exxon Company U.S.A. held the positions of Designer, Field Engineer, District Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Headquarters Purchasing Coordinator and Headquarters Engineering Coordinator/Manager. The manager responsibility included all engineering activities on a nationwide basis. Responsibilities were associated with the engineering, design, construction and maintenance of petroleum refined product terminals, bulk plants, airport fueling facilities, service stations and vehicle fleet facilities. In conjunction with the Exxon responsibility, twelve years of active involvement with the American Petroleum Institute, including research and development in the areas of petroleum product temperature effects, vapor recovery systems, underground motor fuel storage systems, liquid measuring devices and leak and spill prevention and detection measures. As Chairman of the API Weights and Measures Committee, directed ongoing activities associated with state regulatory jurisdictions and the National Bureau of Standards. Authored several published technical presentations and reports relating to existing or potential regulatory and fire code requirements.
