Exxon Company, International
Location: Worldwide
Description: Development of a training program for marketing terminal supervisors on the physical equipment located within a typical petroleum products terminal and the operations associated with product movement through the terminal. The program traces the flow of product from the point of receipt, through the storage tanks, to the pumping station, then to the tank car or tank truck loading positions, the egress from the terminal. The impact of environmental, fire protection, security, and automation considerations on design and operations is included in the program.

Update of existing Marketing Engineering Guides for the design and, separately, for the operation of LPG plants. The manuals provide guidelines for facility design and operation that will permit safe, efficient handling of butane, propane, and their mixes.

Development of grassroots individual Marketing Engineering Guides including design, materials, installation and testing for marketing terminals:

  • Fire protection facilities.

  • Petroleum product atmospheric storage tanks.

  • Above and below ground petroleum product piping.

  • Petroleum product bottom loading facilities.
  • American Petroleum Institute
