Experience:
1996 to Present - Pro Plus, Inc.
Project Manager: Performed electrical
and mechanical project work for a crude oil pipeline
and production facilities in Guatemala. Designed satellite
based communications system for
voice, fax, data and SCADA systems. Presently designing computer
network systems, variable speed drives for pumping units on
product pipelines, firewater pumping systems, engine driven
pumping units, pipelines and production facilities. Working
on various petroleum
marketing engineering projects.
1989 to 1996 - Shell Oil Company
Consultant Engineer: Project Engineer
for Shell's Odessa-El Paso Products Line Capacity
Increase Project (utilizing variable speed driven pumping
units). Electrical Project Engineer for
the ITT Meter Station in Louisiana (high pour point crude
oil). Mont Belvieu Propylene Pipeline
Expansion Project and the Quantum Ethylene connection.
1988 to 1989 - Gulf Interstate Engineering Company
Consultant Engineer: Performed electrical
project work for Tenneco's HOCOL Columbia
Project and BP Ecuador. Designed gas turbine driven compressor
stations for Transco Energy. Made estimates for the Iraq Rumaila
Field expansion, Northern Natural Gas Compressor stations
(25,000hp variable speed driven), SCADA systems and other
projects as required.
1979 to 1988 - Texaco
Precommissioning Coordinator: Responsibilities
were to insure that all systems on the
platform were constructed per specifications, applicable codes
and regulations. Complete
system functional checkouts, testing and process performance
studies were made.
Modifications and revisions to existing systems were made
as actual on-site process
conditions dictated. Additional duties included training and
instruction of operations personnel
in systems operation and functions.
Texaco: Consultant Engineer for Texaco
Offshore Engineering. Performed studies for Texaco's Harvest
Platform to insure that all required forms and documentation
records were available,
adequate and applicable for the precommissioning and commissioning
of the platform.
Insured that proper testing procedures were specified in
addition to designing functional
systems checkouts and start-up procedures.
Shell Oil Company: Consultant Engineer
to Shell Western Exploration and Production, Inc.
for their CO2 project in Cortez, Colorado. Designed and specified
electrical, instrumentation
and metering systems for the CO2 test facility. Supervised
construction, installation and
start-up. Trained operating personnel for the test facility.
Performed feasibility and economic
studies for the high voltage electrical transmission and
distribution systems, both underground
and overhead. Prepared economic studies for electrical power
costs and usage for various
types of electrical power purchase agreements as proposed
by Shell and by the local REA
Power Company.
Consultant Engineer to Shell Pipeline, Houston, Texas: Performed
various design functions
in connection with ethylene, ethane and propylene pipeline
systems. Designed and specified
electrical and instrumentation control systems for large compressors,
computer metering
mass flow, large heaters, solid desiccant drying facilities,
flare systems and salt dome storage facilities. Specified
on-line computer systems for supervisory control (SCADA),
programmable controllers, on line analyzers, line integrity
systems, uninterrupted power supply systems and standby generators,
prepared bid documents for construction and analyzed bids.
1976 to 1979 - International Pipeline Engineers
Consultant Engineer: Responsible for
design, specification and evaluation of electrical power
distribution systems for producing oil fields in South America
including gas and diesel engine
generators, pumping units, overhead distribution lines, control,
switchgear, pneumatic and
electronic instrumentation. Conducted preliminary surveys
of client requirements, made
recommendations to the client, prepared bid documents and
aided in contract negotiations.
Negotiated long term contracts and purchase orders with vendors
of major items of equipment.
Prepared specifications for rotating and reciprocating equipment.
Developed design manuals,
data books and construction schedules. Supervised and coordinated
contractors, engineers,
draftsmen and other contract personnel. Also performed various
electrical and mechanical
design functions for ethane and ethylene pipeline systems.
